Chat widget setup

Add your chat bubble to your website

One snippet of code, pasted once. Pick your website platform below for exact click-by-click steps — takes about 2 minutes, no developer needed.

Your embed code
<script src="https://meetfrontdesk.com/widget.js" data-business-id="YOUR_BUSINESS_ID" async></script>

This exact snippet, with your own Business ID filled in, will be shown in your dashboard once the chat widget is live on your plan. The code below is a preview so you know what it'll look like.

Add New Plugin
→
"WPCode" or "Insert Headers and Footers"
  1. Install a header/footer plugin

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New, search for "WPCode" (or "Insert Headers and Footers" — either works), and click Install then Activate. This is the safest way to add code: it survives theme updates, unlike editing theme files directly.

  2. Open the header/footer settings

After activating, a new menu item appears (usually Code Snippets → Header & Footer, or Settings → Insert Headers and Footers depending on which plugin you picked).

  3. Paste the code

Paste your embed code into the Footer box (not Header) — this loads the widget after your page content, which keeps your site loading fast.

  4. Save and check your live site

Click Save, then open your website in a new tab (not the admin preview) — the chat bubble should appear in the bottom corner.

Using a page builder like Elementor or Divi instead? Both have their own "Custom Code" or "Embed HTML" widget you can drag onto any page — paste the same snippet there instead of using a plugin.

+ Add Custom Code
  1. Open Custom Code settings

From your Wix Editor or Dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Code (sometimes listed under "Advanced" or "Embeds & Custom Code" depending on your Wix version).

  2. Add a new code snippet

Click + Add Custom Code, paste your embed code into the box.

  3. Set where it loads

Choose "All pages" so the chat bubble shows up site-wide, and set placement to "Body – end".

  4. Apply and publish

Click Apply, then hit Publish on your site (Wix changes don't go live until you publish).

Code Injection
  1. Open Code Injection

From your Squarespace dashboard, go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection.

  2. Paste into the Footer field

You'll see two boxes, Header and Footer — paste your embed code into Footer, which loads it after your page content so it doesn't slow down the initial page load.

  3. Save

Click Save at the top. Squarespace applies Code Injection site-wide automatically — no separate publish step needed.

Code Injection is a Squarespace Business plan feature or higher — it's not available on the entry-level Personal plan.

Edit code → theme.liquid
  1. Open your theme code

From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes, find your current (published) theme, click the ⋯ menu, then Edit code.

  2. Open theme.liquid

In the file list, find and click layout/theme.liquid.

  3. Paste right before the closing body tag

Scroll to the very bottom of the file and find </body>. Paste your embed code on the line just above it.

  4. Save

Click Save. Reload your storefront (not the admin) to confirm the chat bubble shows up.

Editing theme.liquid directly is safe but permanent for that theme — if you're not comfortable editing code, Shopify also lets you add a Custom Liquid section via the visual theme Customizer instead, which is more beginner-friendly.
Your site's HTML file
→
Just before </body>
  1. Find your site's HTML

If your site isn't built on one of the platforms above (a custom-built site, a different builder, or one your web developer manages), the code goes directly into the HTML.

  2. Paste before the closing body tag

Open the HTML file for your site (or every page template, if the widget should appear everywhere), and paste the embed code on its own line, right before </body>.

  3. Not sure how to access your site's code?

Forward this page to whoever manages your website — the instructions above are all a developer needs, no explanation required.
